No matter what business you’re in, there are a certain things that need to be ascertained while positioning the brand effectively:
Who you are?
What do you do?
What is your USP? How are you better than the rest or plan to be?
Who is your target audience?
Having a clear answer to these questions will help you understand your own brand and target audience in a more extensive manner. This in turn will help to position the brand effectively.
2. Getting to know the customer
Understanding your target audience will help you understand their expectations and desires which will help you fine tune the brand to deliver appropriately. Knowing your target audience will make your branding initiatives way more focused and directed.
When a customer develops a perception of expectation about a brand either through direct use or interaction, advertising etc, it can leave a bad impression about the brand is these are not met or if the brand’s not consistent.
4. Marketing Activities
The Marketing activities that have to be used will be defined by the target audience. At present, Social Media is the new rage. However, though it is a very popular outlet, you need to know if your target is employing this medium and for what purpose they use it. If you use a medium that is not familiar with the target, then it would be a waste of time and resources as the target hasn’t been reached.
